How to Use Your Pre-Treatment Concentrate
The Pre-Treatment Concentrate is designed to work alongside your RegenaLight mask, not instead of it. Used correctly, it helps your skin get more out of every LED session. Used incorrectly, or inconsistently, you may not see the results you are hoping for.
Here is everything you need to know to get the most out of your serum.
What the Serum Actually Does
LED light therapy works by delivering specific wavelengths of light into your skin. For that light to reach the deeper layers where it does its work, your skin surface matters. Dry, rough, or uneven skin can scatter and reflect light before it penetrates, which reduces how much benefit you actually get from each session.
The Pre-Treatment Concentrate hydrates your skin surface and creates a more uniform canvas for the LED light to pass through. Think of it as tuning your skin to receive the treatment more effectively.
It is not a replacement for serums you use later in your routine. It is a preparation step specifically designed for LED therapy.
When to Apply
Apply the serum 60 seconds before your LED session, not hours before and not right after cleansing.
Here is the order that works best:
- Cleanse your face and neck as usual
- Pat your skin dry
- Apply the Pre-Treatment Concentrate to your face and neck
- Wait 60 seconds
- Begin your LED session
Those 60 seconds matter. They give the serum enough time to absorb into the surface layer of your skin without leaving a wet film that could interfere with the LED contact.
How Much to Use
Use enough to cover your face and neck in a thin, even layer. For most people, this is about the amount you would typically use with any serum — a small dispense, spread across both palms, then pressed into the skin.
More is not better. A heavy layer can create a barrier that actually reduces how well the LED light penetrates. A thin, even coverage is the goal.
How Often to Use
Use the serum only on mask days.
If you use your RegenaLight mask four times a week, use the serum four times a week. If you use your mask daily, use the serum daily. The serum is a preparation step for LED therapy, so it does not need to be part of your off-day routine.
Using it more often than your mask sessions will not accelerate results, and it is not formulated to replace your regular skincare routine on non-mask days.
When You Should See Results
Consistent use is everything. Most customers notice visible improvements in skin texture and tone somewhere between 8 and 12 weeks of regular, combined use with the mask.
Here is a realistic timeline:
- Weeks 1 to 4: Your skin may feel more hydrated and look slightly more even. Dramatic changes are unlikely this early.
- Weeks 5 to 8: Many customers begin noticing softer texture, more uniform tone, and a subtle glow. This is often when consistency starts paying off.
- Weeks 8 to 12: This is typically when customers see the most meaningful changes — in tone, texture, and overall clarity. Photos taken at week 0 compared to week 12 often show the clearest difference.
- Beyond 12 weeks: Continued use compounds results. Skin health is cumulative.
If you have been using your serum and mask consistently for less than 8 weeks, you may be closer to seeing results than you think. For a detailed breakdown of the mask results timeline, see How Long Until I See Results?.
Common Reasons Customers Do Not See Results
If you have been using the serum consistently and are not noticing changes, here are the usual culprits:
- Inconsistent use. LED therapy and the serum both depend on consistency. Using it twice a week when you meant to use it five times will slow your results.
- Skipping the 60-second wait. Applying the serum and immediately starting your LED session means the serum has not had time to absorb, and you are effectively treating wet skin.
- Using too much. A thick layer can reduce light penetration. Thin and even is the goal.
- Applying other products first. If you apply toner, moisturizer, or other actives before the serum, you are changing what the LED light is passing through.
- Short sessions. If you are cutting LED sessions short, even a perfectly prepared skin surface will not give you full results.
